Japanese
A full range of Japanese courses are taught at BYU through the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages. The department offers undergraduate majors and minors in both Japanese and, with department approval, Japanese Teaching. Japanese is also a language specialization in the Second Language MA program. The department administers a Japanese Credit Exam for BYU students and offers intensive courses in Japanese during Summer Term. The Humanities Technology Research Support Center also offers a FLATS proficiency exam in Japanese.

Although BYU does not currently offer courses in Javanese, the Center for Language Studies will schedule courses in Javanese if a qualified teacher and sufficient student interest can be found.
