Research Funding Request

Are you hoping to include language assessments in your current research?
Please read the instructions below:

The Center for Language studies requires all testing requests to be submitted through the CLS research form and the Humanities College Funding Research Form.

Please submit requests by September 1st for the upcoming calendar year.

For example, if you would like to test your spring/summer 2025 study abroad students, your request must be submitted by September 1, 2024

Please follow this process to receive approval:

Submit the CLS form here
2.
Submit the official college funding form here

Here are some tips for filling out the form:

  • select "Research (college Funded)"
  • Fill out "Faculty Details"
  • Fill out "Project Details"
  • In the section for "Budget Details" you only need to enter a total in the box for "Total Funds Requested"

Example Breakdown of Funding — Total requested on the form would be $3,690

  • For 15 students taking a pre- and post-OPIc the amount would be $2,250 ($75 per OPIc, including the OPIc grid).
  • For 5 students taking a pre- and post-OPI the amount should say $1,440 ($144 per OPI, including OPI comments)

3. Receive college approval. Please forward to Mariah Nix when received.

4. Work with the CLS to plan testing schedule.

Following this procedure will increase transparency in the research being conducted in the college and will ensure all related parties are made aware.
